2011年も残すところ３週間を切りました。
同じくアート部門の各ギャラリーも　延長展示は年内一杯。
まだまだ楽しんでいただけます。
そしてここでひとつ アーティスト達がアクションを起こします！

タイトルは『アーティスト達の声 〜作品解説 ４つの展覧会から〜』
普段鑑賞するだけのギャラリー展示から　みる側みせる側ともに一歩踏み込み
新たなアートの楽しみ方を見つけよう！という企画。
制作者自らが作品に寄せる思いや 制作の舞台裏を語ります。
今回実現した4組 4回の解説シリーズのうち、３組はボイスチャットを用い
まさに肉声で話を聞かせてくれる予定です。
また　4組それぞれにご来場のみなさんの質問にも答えてくれるはずですから
是非ともギャラリーに足を運んで　それぞれの展示作品に秘められたエピソードを
作家本人の言葉で楽しみ、彼らの作品の息づかいを感じていただきたいと思います。

Michiharu Saotome : illustrator

He said he learned everything from the street and at Setsu Mode Seminar. He started to work at Kazuo Hozumi Illustration Studio in 1989. While learning at Setsu Mode Seminar, he won several art work awards and has been holding many group and solo exhibitions in Japan. He has been working mainly for magazines, books and picture books etc., for publishing field.

His passion and enthusiasm to jazz music led him to draw jazz musicians naturally, and has been illustrated for several jazz album jackets. Landscape in harmony with water colors and touch of his brush stroke is bringing us to his magical world.

Recently, he Illustrated and did art direction of a jazz pianist Beegie Adair’s debut in Japan CD art work. Since this album, 4 of her albums marked No.1 at the jazz chart in Japan.

Art Exhibition - drawing in musicians -

ラグビーを高校生の時に始めたのもアイビースタイルが好きで、
イギリスだしさ。
デザインもかっこいいし。
でも、ラグビーそのものは面白いのに部活になるとつまらない。
体育会系で。
好きなコトも組織になるとヤバいんだって思ったね。
で、躰道部っていう沖縄空手に転向。その方が個人競技で面白かったし、先生もユニークだったんだよね。 女の子と下校したりすると、ニヤニヤしながら「お、デートか。弱くなるなあ」とか。
その後はクルマ、モーターレースが大好きになりましたね。やっぱり、これもアイビースタイル好きの延長だったんだけど、、。

ジャズも60年代のジャズ喫茶の時代と比べると、ぼくらはレコード安かったから買えたんだよね。
それに同世代のミュージシャンがストリートでやってたから。友達になっちゃう。
佇まいが好きだったんだよね。
全部、街で遊びながら教わったと思うね。

1966年 東京生まれ。
1988年 セツ・モードセミナー卒業。
1989年 同セミナー研究科に進級、在学中にイラストレーター穂積 和夫氏に師事。
1993年「スウィングジャーナル」誌選、新作ジャケット優秀アート ワーク賞。
1994年 関西版「ぴあ」劇団ポスター、チラシ大賞入選。
1995年 全日空機内誌「翼の王国」にて、国内外を取材し、絵を描 く。
2000年 青森県津軽地方に1年半あまり取材後、絵本「りんごの木の 下で」を「おおきなポケット」誌上にて発表。（福音館書 店 文 斉藤次郎）
2004年 佐藤雅彦初の小説「砂浜」（紀伊國屋書店）装画、挿画を 担当。
2006年 絵本「再会」（リトルモア 文 石橋宙太）

2011年 ジャズピアニストBeegie Adair（ビージー•アデール）の 2010年日本デビューCD「My Piano Romance」のアート ワークを担当。以降、「My Piano Memory」まで4作が すべてジャズチャート１位を記録する。

"Gallery Sayopiyo"
is Sayoko Moonwall and yoyo Quartz, an arts unit by two artists, born in February 2010 in Second Life.

Sayoko Moonwall
her frame pictures, are happy to leave things in the ordinary and casual. Fall in love with the thoughts behind the picture.
Born and raised in Kyoto, she has been taking pictures in Kyoto and neighboring prefectures.
Her work captures a fantastic and beautiful scenery of Kyoto and alot photographed natural scenes.
Not manipulated by any software.

yoyo Quartz
brings in his experience from working in RL on many designs and directions in the world of commercial art and graphic design.
His agenda also includes the building of last years, "JAZZ & ART Festival 2010" which was published in the "Captive Balloon".
This year its going to be "JAZZ & ART Festival 2011" an exhibition venue in the early Sayopiyo art exhibition can be found at the "Kick" SIM should be noted, along with a fantastic forest of barrels.
A new construction of a gallery exhibition is going to debut after December 5, in Tokyo Sea SIM.

私達 "gallery Sayopiyo" はyoyo QuartzとSayoko Moonwall、2010年2月にSecond Lifeに誕生した二人のアーティストによるArtsユニットです。
yoyo Quartzはイラストレーション作品を、Sayoko Moonwallはフォトグラフ作品を発表しています。
二人の異なる作品を共鳴させて創り上げてゆく・・・Sayopiyoの世界を楽しんで頂けたらとても幸せです。

yoyo QuartzはRLでは商業アートやグラフィックデザインの世界で多くのデザインやディレクションを手がけています。
インワールドではRLでは実現が困難な新たな表現に挑戦しておりますが、そういった作品以外に建造物も手がけており、その一つが昨年の "Jazz & Art Festival 2010" で発表した "Captive Balloon" です。こちらは今年の "Jazz & Art Festival 2011" 会期前半のSayopiyoアート展会場にもなっており、幻想的なほたるの森と共にKick SIMにてご覧いただけます。
また、会期後半にお披露目する新たなギャラリーも着工中であり、12月5日以降Haruno SIMにてご覧頂けます。

Sayoko Moonwallは学生時代から演劇の世界を目指していましたが、映像カメラマンであった父の没後、『幸福は何気ない日常に潜んでいるものでありそのヒト コマを写真に残したい。大切な人とともに眺めたかった一瞬を撮りたい』との思いから写真に傾倒してゆきました。京都に生まれ京都に育ち、現在も京都や近県 の魅力とともに日常と非日常を撮り続けています。
幻想的で美しい京都のライトアップの風景などの作品をご覧になった方々から加工ソフトなどを使っているのかというご質問を受けることがあるのですが、加工ソフトなどを使って手を加えたものではなく、ありのままの情景を写したものでございます。

yoyo Quartzは言います。「視覚より心に届けたい・・・」
Sayoko Moonwallは言います。「私の写真を見たらそっと目を閉じて欲しい。そしてあなたのイマジネーションを膨らませてほしい」
二人はアート展ではSecond Lifeならではの表現を用い、時には立体的に、時には能動的に表現します。
しかしその根底で常に平面アートの表現を大切にしています。立体表現も平面の向こう側にある一表現として捉えており、そこに新たな魅力を膨らませてゆきたいと挑戦し続けています。

*About Me*
I am a Japanese artist. The art you see here was made on a computer, using a pen tablet.

SL allows me to display my art in its purest form. Digital data is revealed via graphic pixels. SL helps make my art come alive, makes it real, more even than in 1st life, because to show it there I would have to transform it, by printout or posting on the web. Here I can upload and it is a real life experience inside SL. I find that so exciting!

Recently, three-dimensional works and installations are increasing.

"N00sphere Playground" is an interactive sound installation in which avatars' own movements trigger various preprogrammed sounds. With its form that imitates and modifies a playground sphere, the work expresses the joy of play through the experience of interactive sounds. Beneath its surface, however, is an underlying notion of noosphere, closely related to Henri Bergson’s concept "Èlan Vital" and its role in evolution. The installation witnesses the unique inter-relation between creativity and play manifested in the dreamscape of Second Life.

"N00sphere Playground" was commissioned in 2007 by Tagging Art (www.taggingart.org) in Copenhagen with support from The Danish Arts Council for "Virtual Moves" exhibition at the National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst). For its realisation in Second Life it further received support from Humlab (www.humlab.umu.se), Umeå University, in Sweden. "N00sphere Playground" is today permanently hosted in Second Life by HUMlab ??

<<< Seduction (Seduction of Mermaid) >>> (2011)

For the last couple of years I have been reassessing the foundation for my art practice, with the outcome that has led me to base my work increasingly on my own self. It is a result of many months' struggle over understanding the relation between my art and myself, at a level deeper than previously perceived. "Seduction (Seduction of Mermaid)" is the second work in that process.

Seduction is immanent in human experience. From buying a product to meeting a person in RL, via SL or on social web, we are always being seduced by word, image, sound, material, etc. We seem to have a permanent need to get seduced.

An artwork is not an exception. We interact with it, get seduced by it, and live with the experience. An artwork, for me, is not an object. It is a way of getting to know someone. It is an intimate way to enter into another's world. And as such, we artists are bound to have to live with its consequences: fear of opening up oneself to another, fear of rejection, and fear of death when our seduction fails. For each work I produce, I have to go through the same procedure: stripping, reaching out, and fearing the failure of seducing.

Maybe, though in a strange way, we artists can be considered similar to the Sirens, who with their songs try to lure people to come nearer to the fatal attraction. And maybe what we fear most is the fate of the Little Mermaid, who one day dissolves into the ocean foam and disappears.

"Seduction (Seduction of Mermaid)" is the second major installation by my avatar Goodwind Seiling in Second Life. It is also the first work in SL in which I intentionally try to link a clearer tie between my RL personality and the persona of my avatar Goodwind.

"Seduction (Seduction of Mermaid)" was conceived site specifically for the Spiral Shell Gallery on Amatsu sim for Jazz and Art Festival 2011. The gallery was specially designed and created for this event by miyuki Alter (a.k.a Miyuki Oomori) in collaboration with dinamite Kidd (a.k.a Akihiro Iwata) and Toko Loon (a.k.a. Toko Hozumi).

[How to Experinence]

Enable your sound.

Ride in one of the red bubbles on the ground. The red bubble is your vehicle that takes you into the N00sphere dome.

By using your arrow keys, you can navigate your vehicle.
(When experiencing delays in view rendering, you can also start using the arrow keys. This should set your view right.)

You can also stand up from your vehicle and walk inside the dome.

To transport yourself from the dome, first stand up from your vechicle (if you haven't already done so) and ride in the red bubble placed at the bottom of the dome. This will automatically transport you to an area inside the Spiral Shell Gallery.

この作品は、ビーチ、ドーム、ギャラリーの離れて見える3ヵ所が、相互に関係し合って構成されています。

SLブラウザのサウンドを聞こえるように調節してください。

ビーチに転がる赤いバブルは乗り物です。右クリックして乗ってください。

バブルに乗るとN00sphere Playgroundの大きなドームの中に移動します。

キーボードの矢印キーを操作して、この中で転がったり降りて歩いたりすることにより音が鳴ります。

外に出るには、ドーム内部の下のほうにあるバブルに乗ってください。ギャラリーの底に着きます。

ギャラリーの窓からは先ほどの大きなドームが見えます。

らせん状のギャラリー内の展示は初公開のインスタレーション「Seduction/人魚の誘惑」 です。

ギャラリーへはビーチから徒歩で行くこともできます。

ビーチの上のプラットフォームからも、水に映るドームの壮大な眺めをお楽しみいただけます

To transport home (to outside the dome):

First "stand up" from your vehicle (the red bubble) and re-enter the red bubble vehicle at the bottome of the dome. This should automatically take you to an area outside the dome.
